Illegal Indonesian Guest Workers in Malaysia were deported by Malaysian Government. Many of them had experienced violence and sexual harassment. For example Hariana, Indonesian guest workers from South East Celebes. She admitted that she often had had bad treatment from her employer, so she often had a headache.
Sometimes she had not ate from her employer. Not only Hariana who got bad treatment from the employer. The another Indonesian guest workers, Erik, had had experienced violence from warder in Malaysia. They hit him if he could not exercise.
Secretary General of Social Department, Alex Triono said that these Indonesian guest workers were deported from Malaysia because they did not have the legal documents. Before sent them back to Indonesia, they were arrested in Lokap Kota Tinggi, Malaysia for 1 month.
They were departed from Pasir Gudang Port, New Johor, Malaysia by ferry to Tanjung Pinang, Tanjung Priok, and Tanjung Perak.
At least 208 the professional Indonesian guest workers were sent to Japan. They would be working in the hospital and the nursing home as a nurse or a caretaker. The dispatch of these Indonesian guest workers were done by the Manpower and Transmigration Minister, Erman Suparman.
It was the realization of agreement between Indonesia government and Japanese government in 2006. Erman said that the target of this project was 1000 Indonesian guest workers.
He said that there were many opportunities for the Indonesian guest workers to work in Japan, especially in the industry and agriculture field. He said that his party would be discussing this problem to Japanese government.
Meanwhile, Head of BNP2TKI, Jumhur Hidayat said that these Indonesian guest workers would be joining certification program for 6 months. If they pass this program, they would be having contract to work in Japan for 3 years. But if they failed, they would be sending back to Indonesia. All costs will be covered by Japanese government.
During the past few years, lesbian trend in Hong Kong became an epidemic. Many the Indonesian guest workers became lesbians. They did not feel shame to show off their affection in public. Many of them act like a man, with using tatter jeans and long t-shirt. They also smoked and walked like a boy. They ignored their ambience.
Most of the Indonesian guest workers who worked in Hong Kong were women. According to the data from Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia, the number of Indonesian guest workers almost 130 thousand people. Many of them worked in household as a maid.
This condition makes them easy to get on together. They usually spent their holiday on Sunday in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay. A part of them became a lesbian just because trend, and they still liked a man. Some of them admitted that they were still normally. They became a lesbian just because trend and no many man who worked in Hong Kong.
It will be better if Indonesian government take an action for trend of lesbian. This will affect Indonesia’s image in the worldwide perspective.
Suwarni, the Indonesian guest workers from Pakah village, Mantingan, Ngawi, East Java, died in Singapore. She was 25 years old. She died of falling from 9th floor of her apartment. The family of Suwarni said that they accepted the death of Suwarni defenselessly. But they demanded that the rights of suwarni to be fulfilled.
She departed to Singapore on May 2007. It was the first time for her to work as a migrant worker. She departed through PT Mutiara Putra Utama, one of the agencies in Sragen, Central Java.
When worked in Singapore, Suwarni contacted her family only once. She is the second child in her family. For her family, Suwarni is their life support, so the family hoped that the rights of her can be given to them.
Head of Placement of The Indonesian Guest Workers for Ngawi Regional, Sujipto, said that his party will help the family to take care of management to get her rights. He also said that his party will have coordination with the agency. Sujipto said that if Suwarni went to Singapore legally, he make sure that her family will get the rights.
One of The Indonesian guest workers from Cilacap, Ngadikem (29) died in Hongkong. She got hit by car and died when she was taking the children of her employer to school. Head of Manpower Department of Consulate General of Indonesia, Yolvis, said that Ngadikem was crashed on May, 26th 2008.
He said, that it happened when she was crossing the traffic lights. She saw the bus stopped, so she thought that it was red lamp. But suddenly, the car move quickly to her with the high speed and then crashed her.
Yolvis said that the local police did not permit them to brought Ngadikem’s dead body to Indonesia as soon because it had to autopsy first. Her dead body could send back to Indonesia on 10th June.
The victim would got her rights such as insurance, and her salary from her employer. But before that, the family had to prepare the documents which was needed. Ngadikem had been working for five years in the same employer, but she departed to Hongkong trough three different agencies.
Her employer had given her family some money as the condolences. Ngadikem was the first children of her family. She was buried in her village.
Fitriani, one of Indonesian guest worker from Probolinggo, East Java died in Hong Kong with 20 stabs all over body. The death of this girl who was born in Malang received much attention from Hong Kong public.
The local television station presented this incident continually. Fitriani’s body was founded by her employer on Thursday, 24 January 2008. The Republic of Indonesia consulate general has assigned attorneys to cooperate with police and follow up the case.
Director of BNP2TKI, Marjono said that they strove for the protection of the victim, so the victim’s family can get their rights such as insurance rights as many as 40 million rupiah, and repatriation of victim’s body to Indonesia.
According to him, the perpetrator of the murder was the resident of the Bangladesh nationality. However, this was still being investigated by local police. He said that the system of the labour law in Hong Kong has been enough to protect the interest of the migrant worker. So, he optimist that law enforcement in Hong Kong will go.
One of Indonesian guest workers from Probolinggo, East Java was killed in Hong Kong last week. According to Manpower and Transmigration Department’s data, her name is Fitriani. She was born in Malang on 3 June 1983.
She was killed with 20 stabs all over her body. Her body was founded by her employer at 8.25 AM. Chief of Public Relation Department of Manpower and Transmigration, Sumardoko said that the suspect of the murder was the man who has a relationship with the victim.
Based on information from the neighbors, on January 1st 2008, she was come by unknown man. They used a mask and hit her so she got bruise and has to bring to the hospital.
The Republic of Indonesia consulate general in Hong Kong tried to send her body back to Indonesia on 31 January by airplane CX 719 ETD Hong Kong. The Republic of Indonesia consulate have carried out efforts to contact her family trough the company of the manpower services which dispatched her and co-operated with the police.
Director Protection of Indonesian Citizen the Foreign Affairs Department, Teguh Wardoyo, said that was true. He said that the local police still don’t know what is the motive of this murder. He also said that they still looking for the address of the victim because the victim has two address.
Teguh said that Hong Kong police co-operated with The Republic of Indonesia consulate general to vet this case.
